Since President Trump withdrew the U.S. from the Iran nuclear deal and reimposed crippling unilateral sanctions, is the U.S. heading toward an inevitable war with Iran or is reconciliation possible? What are the workable policy options for the United States in the Middle East given the constant changing power dynamics? Will the Administration’s maximum pressure campaign against the Iranian regime advance America’s national security or further destabilize the region?
Ambassador Ryan Crocker, a statesman whose distinguished diplomatic career spanned four presidencies and who served as U.S. Ambassador in Afghanistan, Iraq, Pakistan, Syria, Kuwait, and Lebanon, will join the Cleveland Council on World Affairs for a Foreign Policy Forum to discuss U.S. actions in the Middle East and prospects for peace in the region.
