From climate change to infectious disease and cyber security, global trends are increasingly shaping American security interests both at home and abroad. Additionally, the rise of identity based extremism and the forever wars that America has engaged in post 9/11 continue to threaten our national security and foreign policy. These issues are just some of those outside of the umbrella of “traditional security” that impact United States national security. It can be argued that national security extends well beyond protecting our borders and military interests; instead, national security should include the well-being of citizens and inclusion of global trends that continually challenge U.S. interests. How can the U.S. develop a national security strategy to prepare for the challenges that lie ahead?

Join us on May 15, as we host Ambassador Bonnie Jenkins, Founder and Executive Director of Women of Color Advancing Peace and Security (WCAPS), Sanam Naraghi-Anderlini, Founder and Chief Executive Director of International Civil Society Action Network, and Ambassador Gina Abercrombie-Winstanley, Third Way Cyber Enforcement Initiative Advisory Board Member and former U.S. Ambassador to Malta.

This program is presented in partnership with Women of Color Advancing Peace and Security. CCWA would also like to thank our media sponsor, 90.3 WCPN.
