This full-day interactive workshop will provide a multitude of resources for educators to discuss issues of immigration and global migration in their classrooms. Participants will explore the history of immigration to the United States and current U.S. immigration policy, as well as the global refugee crisis and its local impact in Northeast Ohio. The workshop will equip teachers with materials to analyze and respond to students’ thinking on current issues, without injecting their own opinion. The workshop is appropriate for middle and high school history, social studies, and humanities teachers, including AP and IB educators.
Registration fee includes instruction, materials, breakfast, lunch and snacks. Contact hours for educator license renewal are available.
